Dr Lin graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2006, and completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2016. During his specialist training, he was awarded the best registrar award in 2014. In 2017, Dr Lin was awarded the ASEAN Orthopaedic Association Junior Travelling Fellowship and was the Singapore representative.
After obtaining the SingHealth Health Manpower Development Plan Training Fellowship in 2018, Dr Lin completed a year-long Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the prestigious Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, Canada, where he worked with many renowned Orthopaedic Surgeons. During his Fellowship year, he also served as the Fellow physician for the NBA G-League team, Raptors 905.
Upon his return to Singapore, Dr Lin continued to pursue his interest in Sports and quality care for athletes. He was appointed the Chief of Sports Services in SKH in 2019 and further refined the sports surgery and medicine services there. Dr Lin has been the appointed Chief Team Physician for Singapore Slingers, a member of the ASEAN Basketball League, since the 2019-2020 season till now.
Dr Lin is actively involved in teaching medical students from Duke-NUS, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Before leaving for private practice, Dr Lin held the title of Clinical Assistant Professor appointed by Duke-NUS. Dr Lin was also actively involved in teaching junior doctors, orthopaedic surgery residents and family medicine trainees.
Dr Lin was a member of the clinical competency committee (Orthopaedics Surgery Residency Program), SingHealth Residency Internal Review Committee, Focus Area Subcommittee for Healthcare Quality and Professionalism, and a core clinical faculty member for Post Graduate Year One (PGY1) Doctors.
His specialty interests include sports-related injuries, arthroscopic surgeries, ligament and multi-ligament reconstructions and lower limb trauma. His sub-speciality of knee reconstruction and his experience with keyhole surgery targets the most frequently occurring sports injuries we see today.
A recipient of multiple service awards during his practice at the Singapore General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital, Dr Lin is committed to providing compassionate and holistic care for his patients.
Outside of work, Dr Lin enjoys casual cycling on weekends with family. You can often find him on his cycle in the Marina Bay or East Coast area. Apart from work commitments, Dr Lin believes in the importance of helping the local community and contributing to the nation. Upon completing his National Service liabilities, Dr Lin continued his service as a brigade medical officer in the Singapore Armed Forces under the Reservist On Voluntary Extended Reserve Service.
